About ezbank
On 30 September 2025, the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) announced that the Cabinet had approved the licence of EZ Bank as a new digital bank, with capital of SAR 2.5 billion. The bank is founded by Ajlan & Bros Holding Group and QNB Group, and focuses on retail digital banking. With this licence, the Kingdom has 39 licensed banks.
Why Elasticsearch
Elasticsearch is an open source, distributed search and analytics engine built for speed, scale and AI applications. It stores structured, unstructured and vector data in real time, and the same platform serves several needs:
- Search: fast, relevant search inside apps and websites, in Arabic and English.
- AI search and RAG: vector search that gives AI assistants the right context from an organisation's own data.
- Observability: logs, metrics and traces in one place, to keep digital services available.
- Security analytics: searching and analysing security events at scale.
For a digital bank, the app and the systems behind it are the bank. Platforms like Elasticsearch are widely used by digital services to search large volumes of data in milliseconds and to watch over systems that must stay available around the clock.
